Facilities
As a part of SMG Anjalai Ammal Educational Society’s overall plan to improve its facilities and service to students and the communities it serves, the trust has developed a staff committee which periodically develops plan revisions that respond to changing needs and create facilities for the growing needs.
Our college possesses good infrastructure facilities for conducting the B.Ed Course. The land available is 0.98 hectares fully fenced by Compound wall. The building was completed during the year 2000. The college has five class rooms,with oen SIPW room . Out of this three classrooms are provided with desk and benches. Two classrooms are provided with single chair armed desk type. Proper ventilation and aeration is available for each classroom. In spite of the fresh air from the surroundings, each classroom is provided with fans and lightsApart from these each classroom has wall blackboards.
The Psychology Laboratory
This contains various tests materials and other equipments essential for psychology .(as per the norms of NCTE) with ten tables for practical purpose.
The Physical Science and Biological Science Laboratories
Separate laboratories for the physical science and biological science has been provided. It contains all the necessary equipments to help the trainee teachers to learn about laboratory(equipments handling, preparation of stocks etc.).
The Library
The spacious library Hall comprises of 6000+ books. Separate books for Reference section is also kept for the ready reference for the Lecturers. Encyclopaedia Britanica on Education are also available.
The Computer Lab
There are 25 computers with one HP Laser Jet Printer and UPS Power Supply with 6 Hrs Back Up. There is a CD Player, OHP Projector, LED Projector, Camera etc for Audio Visual . Internet Facility is provided.
The Multipurpose Hall
The multipurpose hall holds a seating capacity for 200 students. It has a stage of 15X15 feet measurement and is provided with Audio Equipments. Various programme are conducted in this Hall including seminars.
Physical Education
Many indoor and outdoor games are made available in our Sports club. Importance is given to training the physique
The Campus
The campus covers an area of 0.98 hectares land. It is situated in the midst of Pondicherry and Villupuram. From Villupuram it is 22 kms and from Puducherry it is 20 kms The college is situated at a distance of 12 kms from the NH-45 road.
Play Ground
Occupies a space of nearly 10,000 Sq.m. Tennicoits and Volleyball are mainly practiced in this ground.
Hostels
Separate Hostels are there for Boys and Girls . Boys hostel is situated at the west side of the main campus and Girls Hostel in the midst of Thirukkanur, each with an accommodation of 100 students.
Canteen
Canteen within the college campus gives refreshment beverages, breakfast, lunch and dinner for students.
Extracurricular Activities
Many Awareness programmes are conducted by our college students in collaboration with Performing Arts from Pondicherry Unviersity. Awareness on the Eradication of Liquor, Child Labour etc. are being conducted. Importance of education, hygiene, planting trees are brought to the knowledge of the villagers through dramas in the near by villages.
YSARD (Young Scientist Agricultural Research Development)
A research wing which is managed by agricultural scientist who are hailing from in and around our college. They coordinate with the farmers to develop agricultural research knowledge to young farmers in village at unit level and SHG (self help group) ladies. Besides we impart the value of rural education and their village development.
