Eligibility Criteria

A candidate shall be eligible for the admission to the Degree of Bachelor of Education provided that he/she should have passed the Bachelor’s Degree Examination of this University in the 10+2+3 stream or a degree of any other University accepted as equivalent , in any school subject listed below.

• English

• Tamil

• Mathematics

• Physics

• Chemistry

• Bio – Chemistry

• Micro Biology

• History

• Geography

• Economics

• Commerce*

* For commerce, the candidate should have passed the Master’s Degree in Commerce apart from the minimum eligibility.

Note:

​

(i) Candidates should have scored atleast 45% of marks either in Part-III (Main & Allied) of the Bachelor’s degree or in the Master’s degree (both UG & PG in the same school subject)

(ii) There shall be relaxation of 5 % marks to SC/ST/OBC/MBC and Physically Challenged students.

(iii) The reservation for to SC/ST/OBC/MBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the concerned State /UT Government.

(iv) A Candidate who has taken more than one School subject as Main (Double or Triple Major) in the Bachelor’s degree will be eligible for admission to only one of the school subjects.

(v) There is no upper age limit for admission to one year B.Ed course.

(vi) Selection for admission to the above course shall be based on the merit list drawn for each subject separately on the basis of the Common Entrance Test-CET conducted for all Private Colleges of Education belong to Pondicherry Union Territory and 50% of seats sponsored by Government of Pondicherry through CENTAC.
